Feb. 04 2006 ....traffic in downtown is always like this?

Saturday.

Design 1 instructor Margaret Griffith sent mail and invited whole class to a group show gallery reception that included her works this evening, next to downtown LA.

I took off at 16:30 and I was sooooo lost in traffic, and sincerely this is the first time that I've ever been in downtown this late. The reception started at 18:00, when I smashed myself out of traffic to Carl Berg Gallery, it was already 16:40. I was badly faustrating because I promised a friend to arrive on time.

The gallery was basicly jam-packed since the moment I stepped in til I left like the traffic outside. There were not too many artworks in the show, but all wonderful by the meaning of craftmanship, idea, or skill. Margaret's piece was the lagest, hanging on the wall with her constant architectural style, right by the entrance hallway, very identical. There're two interesting drawings in the back that use charcoal pencil to do ink brush-like overlaping and smear over with cotton bud with water....I could not really tell the process but the overrall was incredibly complex.

Didn't meet the friend, Margaret said she left few moment ago before I stepped in. Right now typing the blog I feel soooo sorry. :(
